SUMMARY
The Lead Administrative Project Manager is responsible for leading a team of Administrative Project Managers and Project Coordinators, while overseeing the successful delivery of construction projects. This role balances people management, operational oversight, and project execution, ensuring projects are executed efficiently and profitably, aligned with organizational standards, and supported daily.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Required:
High School Diploma or GED and five (5) years of construction project management experience in the food service industry or related field.
Minimum of two (2) years of people management or formal supervisory experience.
Strong financial acumen, leadership capability, and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, AutoQuotes, and SAP
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Business, or related field.
Experience leading teams in a multi-project or high-volume environment.
Demonstrated success driving process improvement or operational efficiency initiatives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Directly manages Administrative Project Managers and Project Coordinators, to include performance management, coaching, development planning, and goal setting.
Responsible for administering time-keeping approvals for non-exempt colleagues.
Assigns projects and workloads based on capacity, skill level, and project complexity.
Leads hiring, onboarding, and training activities in partnership with HR.
Fosters a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Oversees planning, coordination, and execution of multiple concurrent construction projects.
Reviews and approves project estimates, bids, RFQs, scopes of work, and schedules.
Serves as the primary escalation point for complex projects, customer, vendor, or financial issues.
Ensures compliance with contract requirements, billing standards, and documentation policies.
Provides consolidated project reporting and insights to senior leadership.
Establishes, reinforces, and improves standardized project management processes and best practices.
Builds and maintains strong relationships with internal partners, vendors, and customers.
Participates in cross-functional leadership discussions to align priorities and resolve systemic issues.
