Job Profile Summary The Senior Director of Global Procurement & Strategic Sourcing provides enterprise-wide leadership for procurement, category management, and supplier strategy across a global, multi-distribution center (DC) network. The Senior Director of Global Procurement & Strategic Sourcing provides enterprise-wide leadership for procurement, category management, and supplier strategy across a global, multi-distribution center (DC) network. Global Procurement Strategy & Governance
Define and lead the global procurement and strategic sourcing roadmap aligned with enterprise growth objectives.
Establish global category strategies across direct and indirect spend, leveraging scale while accommodating regional and customer-specific requirements.
Implement and standardize global procurement policies, governance frameworks, and best-in-class operating procedures.
Drive procurement transformation initiatives, including centralization, capability building, and process harmonization across regions.
Strategic Sourcing & Category Leadership
Lead end-to-end global sourcing initiatives including market intelligence, supplier selection, RFx execution, and complex negotiations.
Develop multi-year category strategies focused on total cost of ownership (TCO), supply resilience, innovation, and sustainability.
Apply advanced sourcing methodologies including should-cost modeling, clean-sheet analysis, and global benchmarking.
Lead enterprise-level negotiations and supplier contracting across key global categories.
Global Distribution Network & DC Enablement
Align sourcing strategies with a global multi-DC distribution network, optimizing regional demand, lead times, and service-level requirements.
Partner with Distribution, Inventory, and Logistics leaders to enhance: Global replenishment models (pull, push, cross-dock, flow-through); SKU rationalization and regional/DC-specific assortment; Network expansion, footprint optimization, and nearshoring strategies
Ensure global supplier compliance with DC operational standards (EDI, labeling, palletization, service-level agreements).
Integrated Business Planning (IBP) & Demand Alignment
Partner with Demand Planning, Finance, and Commercial teams to align sourcing strategies with global forecasts, promotions, and seasonality.
Leverage planning tools (e.g., Tagetik) to: Support scenario modeling and supply-demand trade-offs; Align procurement plans with IBP/S&OP processes; Optimize inventory, service levels, and working capital globally
Translate demand signals into scalable, executable sourcing and supply plans.
Supplier Relationship Management & Risk Mitigation
Build and manage executive-level relationships with strategic global suppliers.
Establish a formal Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) program, including segmentation, governance, and performance management.
Proactively identify and mitigate global supply risks: Geopolitical and macroeconomic disruptions; Supplier financial/operational risk; Dual sourcing and regional diversification strategies
Lead contingency planning, nearshoring initiatives, and supply continuity frameworks.
Digital Procurement, Analytics & Transformation
Champion global procurement digitization, leveraging ERP, analytics, and supplier collaboration platforms.
Drive adoption of data-driven decision-making through advanced dashboards, KPIs, and predictive analytics.
Partner with IT to implement system enhancements and enable end-to-end procurement visibility and automation.
Leadership & Organizational Development
Lead and develop a high-performing global procurement and sourcing organization, including regional and category leaders.
Build scalable capabilities in strategic sourcing, negotiation, analytics, and supplier management.
Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.
Education & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or related field required
MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred
APICS / ASCM (e.g., CSCP), Lean, or Six Sigma certifications preferred
12–15+ years of progressive leadership experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain within a global environment
Minimum 8+ years of people leadership, including leading leaders and global teams
Proven experience managing procurement across multi-DC, regional, or global distribution networks
Demonstrated success leading procurement transformation and enterprise sourcing initiatives
Experience in distribution, food service, hospitality, or similarly complex supply chain environments preferred
Strong executive presence with the ability to influence C-suite and cross-functional leadership
Deep expertise in: Global procurement strategy and category management; Strategic sourcing and supplier negotiations; Financial levers including margin, pricing, and working capital; IBP / S&OP and demand-driven supply models
Hands-on experience with: ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, etc.); Demand planning / CPM tools (e.g., Tagetik); Procurement analytics and supplier performance tools
Strong change leadership, transformation, and organizational design capability
