JOB SUMMARY
The position’s purpose is to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the accounting department through financial reporting, reconciliations, and audits.
FULL TIME ONSITE in PORTLAND OR (NOT hybrid or remote)
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Completes all balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepare month-end journal entries
- Maintains fixed asset records in compliance with Sysco FAMM and applies for approval of new acquisitions.
- Variance analysis v plan/forecast/prior year
- Customer profitability analysis
- Daily/Weekly reporting
- Weekly forecast estimates
- Present monthly results to site leaders
- Help with physical inventory 1 Saturday a month (rotates with other staff accountants)
- Assist with creating PO’s, maintaining and closing PO’s as needed
- Assists with the development of the annual growth plan
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience
- 3 - 5 years in Accounting
Professional Skills
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; strong understanding of GAAP principles; strong 10-key and data entry skills; ability to compile balance sheets.
- Most important decisions made fully independently.
- Journal entry preparation/monthly account reconciliations
- Strong excel skills required – intermediate to advanced
- Build comparative analysis files for variance to plan/Forecast analysis
