Job Summary:

This position is responsible for the overall cleanliness of the area they are assigned to.  They are to assist in food safety and quality by keeping the working area clear of trash and food debris and cleaning tools, equipment, and the working area thoroughly. 

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Ensure production room is clean.

  • Sweep food waste up from the floor and equipment.

  • Empty red trash barrels

  • Haul trash and cardboard out of processing room to the compactors

  • Dump food waste into food waste lift

• Clean and sanitize production lines between products and during allergen changeovers.

• Run dishwasher.

• Help production/QA drain and clean the tanks as necessary.

• Clean farm waste room

• Assist in cleaning, removing trash, and shoveling outside of the building as assigned. 

• Clean equipment after a maintenance repair is performed.

• Any other production room and equipment cleaning tasks

• Ensure outside break area and food waste room are clean.

• Help with inventory for janitor supplies-report to QA department.

• Restock GMP supplies in the production room.

• Stock inventory in janitor closet.

• Remove and sort trash from cardboard within the warehouse.

• Remove and dispose of food product.

• Sweep, mop and scrub the floors.

• Sanitize floor drains.

• Pick up empty pallets using a pallet jack.

• Various cleaning assignments and projects.

• Clean restrooms and restock supplies.

• Vacuum, mop, and sanitize breakrooms, conference rooms and office spaces.

• Collect trash and recycling and dispose of correctly.

• Follow all good manufacturing practices (GMP’s)

• Maintain a safe working environment to reduce injuries and workers compensation claims.

• Food Safety as it relates to this position.

• All other duties assigned.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED

No previous experience required

Requirements:

• Be able to work in cool, wet conditions, 35-45 degrees

• Requires standing and/or walking for long periods of time (8+ hours per day)

• Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular and consistent basis

• Ability to document work completed

• Strong attention to detail 

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

• High regard for safety and working in a safe manner
