Job Profile Summary The Senior Manager, Global Learning & Development leads the effective operation, governance and delivery of Sysco's global learning infrastructure and services, ensuring colleagues have reliable access to high-quality, relevant and compliant learning experiences. The role has primary responsibility for the operational management of global compliance and required learning, Workday Learning, instructional design and content creation, external content providers and the processes, standards and governance that underpin effective enterprise learning delivery. Working closely with Legal, Risk, Human Resources, Human Resources Information Systems, business subject-matter experts and Learning & Development partners, the role ensures required learning is accurately assigned, tracked and reported, with clear controls and accountability. The role leads the day-to-day effectiveness of Workday Learning, ensuring strong administration, data integrity, user experience, support and partnership with market learning administrators. The role also leads instructional design and content development capability, establishing contemporary design standards and creating engaging, accessible and effective learning solutions. It manages external content and learning providers to ensure quality, value, relevance and appropriate contractual and operational performance. The Senior Manager combines strong operational discipline with Learning & Development expertise, continuously improving how learning is designed, delivered, managed and experienced across Sysco.

Position Summary:
The Senior Manager, Global Learning & Development leads the effective operation, governance and delivery of Sysco's global learning infrastructure and services, ensuring colleagues have reliable access to high-quality, relevant and compliant learning experiences.
The role has primary responsibility for the operational management of global compliance and required learning, Workday Learning, instructional design and content creation, external content providers and the processes, standards and governance that underpin effective enterprise learning delivery.
Working closely with Legal, Risk, Human Resources, Human Resources Information Systems, business subject-matter experts and Learning & Development partners, the role ensures required learning is accurately assigned, tracked and reported, with clear controls and accountability. Responsibilities:
Global Compliance & Required Learning Operations (25%)
Lead the operational delivery and governance of global compliance and required learning. Partner with Legal, Risk, Human Resources and business subject-matter experts to translate requirements into accurate learning assignments; establish clear controls for audience identification, assignment, completion, escalation and reporting; maintain appropriate records and continuously improve compliance-learning processes and colleague experience.
Workday Learning Management & Operations (25%)
Lead the effective day-to-day management and administration of Workday Learning globally. Establish robust processes, roles, controls and service standards; partner with Human Resources Information Systems on system configuration, data and integration issues; support and enable market Learning Administrators; oversee colleague learning support and ticket resolution; and continually improve platform reliability, usability and effectiveness.
Instructional Design & Content Creation (20%)
Lead Sysco's enterprise instructional design and content-development capability, translating identified learning requirements into engaging, accessible and effective solutions. Establish and maintain design standards, methodologies and quality assurance; determine appropriate modalities and approaches; and oversee internal and external design and production.
Content & Learning Provider Management (15%)
Manage Sysco's enterprise learning content providers and relevant external learning partners, ensuring content is current, relevant, accessible and delivers appropriate quality and value. Manage day-to-day supplier performance, service delivery and contractual requirements and provide insight to inform future provider and investment decisions.
Learning Governance, Standards & Continuous Improvement (10%)
Establish and maintain operational governance, standards, documentation and controls across enterprise learning delivery. Use data, stakeholder feedback and operational insight to identify risks, improve processes and strengthen the quality, consistency and efficiency of learning operations.
Enterprise Learning Partnership & Delivery (5%)
Partner with Global Learning & Development, embedded learning teams, Human Resources and business stakeholders to enable effective delivery of enterprise learning priorities, providing operational and design expertise and ensuring solutions can be implemented effectively through Sysco's learning ecosystem.
Technical Skills and Abilities
• Learning operations expertise — Strong understanding of the processes, controls and disciplines required to operate enterprise learning effectively and reliably.
• Workday Learning / LMS expertise — Strong practical knowledge of learning management systems, including administration, assignment, audiences, reporting, security roles, data and user support; Workday Learning experience strongly preferred.
• Compliance learning governance — Understands how required learning is governed, assigned, tracked, reported and evidenced within a complex organisation.
• Instructional design expertise — Strong knowledge of adult learning, instructional design and contemporary approaches to creating effective and engaging learning experiences.
• Content development capability — Able to translate complex subject matter into clear, accessible and effective learning content across appropriate modalities.
• Operational and process discipline — Creates clarity from complexity, establishes robust processes and controls and follows issues through to resolution.
• Data and insight — Comfortable working with learning data, reporting and operational metrics to identify issues, monitor performance and drive improvement.
• Vendor and commercial management — Able to manage external providers against agreed service, quality, contractual and commercial expectations.
• Stakeholder partnership — Builds credible relationships with Legal, Risk, Human Resources Information Systems, Human Resources, subject-matter experts, learning teams and business stakeholders and can challenge constructively when requirements or responsibilities are unclear.
• Continuous improvement and problem solving — Identifies root causes rather than repeatedly treating symptoms and improves systems and processes accordingly.
• Team leadership — Builds capability, establishes accountability and creates high standards across specialist and operational learning resources.
Qualifications
Education Required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant professional experience in Learning & Development, Human Resources, Education, Instructional Design, Learning Technology, Business or a related discipline.
Education Preferred: Relevant postgraduate qualification or professional accreditation in Learning & Development, instructional design, learning technology or a related discipline.
Experience Required: 5+ years' progressive experience in Learning & Development, learning operations, learning technology or related disciplines, including experience managing learning management systems and enterprise learning processes. Demonstrated experience in instructional design/content development, external provider management and working across multiple stakeholders in a complex organisation.
Experience Preferred: Experience operating in a large global or matrixed organisation; hands-on experience with Workday Learning; experience managing global compliance/required learning; working with Human Resources Information Systems and complex learning data; and managing enterprise content providers and learning vendors.
Licences / Certifications: Required: None. Preferred: Relevant professional accreditation or qualification in Learning & Development, adult learning, instructional design, learning technology or related disciplines may be advantageous but is not essential.

· Material changes to the enterprise compliance-learning operating model.
· Significant changes to Workday Learning configuration, architecture or integrations.
· New or materially changed external provider contracts and significant commercial commitments.
· Material changes to enterprise instructional-design or content strategy.
· Significant investment decisions or changes affecting the wider global learning ecosystem.
· Prioritisation decisions where demand materially exceeds available capacity or creates enterprise/business risk.
Decision-rights note: For compliance and required learning, the relevant Legal, Risk, Human Resources or business owner retains accountability for the underlying requirement, target population and subject-matter accuracy. Global Learning & Development owns the learning process, design, delivery, assignment, tracking, reporting and colleague experience within agreed governance.

The successful candidate will combine strong Learning & Development expertise with exceptional operational discipline. They will be equally comfortable working through complex Workday Learning and compliance issues, establishing clear processes and controls, partnering with technical and subject-matter experts, and ensuring learning content is well designed and engaging.
