Job Profile Summary Responsible for managing or performing work associated with converting raw materials and components into finished goods including: • General production manufacturing work • Assembling finished components or parts into finished products • Process manufacturing batches of bulk materials/ingredients including mechanical processing (e.g., mixing, grinding, separating, filtering, etc.) and chemical processing (altering the chemical properties of materials through chemical reactions and changing temperature, pressure, etc.) • Setting up and operating machine tools to convert materials into parts, sub-assemblies, and assemblies • Surface finishing of parts, components, and assembled items including washing/painting/plating/anti- corrosion coating, hardening, polishing/engraving/etching, etc. • Packaging materials or finished goods into containers for the purpose of protection, display, and handling
Description
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the leadership of the department managers within the processing facility including cut, prep, packaging, and warehouse. Stay involved in the process and have a good understanding of the departments' needs such as systems, staffing, and equipment. Other areas of responsibility are food safety, employee safety, fielding employee and customer complaints and ensure high-quality cuts at the highest possible yield along with maximizing pounds per man-hour.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for managing plant production and working with management to ensure the continual operational improvement of efficiencies and effectiveness of the company.
- Coordinate with all departments within the organization to establish and carry out operational challenges.
- Direct, monitor and appraise the performance of all areas immediately reporting and provide direction on areas of concern or new tasks.
- Maintain qualified personnel in positions that report directly and recommend compensation for all production employees.
- Participates as part of the management team to develop business strategies, company policy, and company direction.
- Provide input and leadership on decision-making issues, review and approve costs in labor, equipment, supplies and other areas as they relate to the overall operation.
- Work with customers, sales, and merchandising functions on product development and building meat knowledge.
- Assist with customer and field sales inquiries to offer solutions to resolve problems.
- Provide analysis to president as requested.
- Approve major projects or personal changes within the production facility.
- Give a reason for the expenditure include the benefits the new equipment will bring to the facility and an estimated pay off time based on studies leading to the decision for purchase.
