Job Summary:
Commercial/pricing strategy and planning work focuses on developing commercial/pricing strategies for a portfolio of current and future products across targeted customer/market segments.
Review all customer pricing, markets, and nationals for margin growth and opportunities. Oversees the setup and maintenance of all Corporate Multi-Unit (CMU) and Local contract bids and order guides. Analyzes identify and propose actions to both purchasing and sales departments to ensure compliance with the Corporate Multi-Unit (CMU) business and grow margin/profitability. This expertise will drive our decision-making processes and contribute to the overall profitability and efficiency of our operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Review margin reports daily at customer and item level to ensure the operation company (OpCo) is making the correct adjusted gross profit.
Review top moving items for margin enhancement and make recommendations to purchasing departments. Develop and implement strategies to optimize costs and increase profitability across various product lines.
Conduct market research to stay informed on industry trends, pricing, and supply chain dynamics. Provide data driven recommendations for supplier and purchasing decisions.
Utilize advanced analytical tools and techniques to interpret complex data sets and generate key business insights
Prepare comprehensive reporting and detailed presentations to communicate findings and insights to the broader company and stakeholders
Participate in cross functional teams to drive projects and initiatives to show continuous improvement and operational excellence
Education Required:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Economics, or related field, or equivalent years of experience
Experience Required:
Proven 5+ years in financial analysis, data analyst or similar role within the produce industry or supply chain environment
Technical Skills and Abilities:
Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau, AS400).
Detail oriented with strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing barriers
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information to diverse audiences.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities with a sense of urgency
Strong collaboration with key stakeholders and leaders to influence strategy and inform our evolving price position, performance, margin rates and margin investment
Shows a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
Adaptability to quickly adjust to changing priorities and conditions. Embraces flexibility and is open to new ideas and perspectives
Maintains composure and productivity in the face of challenges. Displays a positive attitude and perseverance.
