Job Summary:
Review, maintain and deploy category pricing strategies across all Merchandising Business Centers by implementing and updating pricing architecture. Support category owners to build product brand tier and positioning by ensuring the appropriate analytical practices and processes are used to provide recommendations that improve performance at Sysco. Responsible for deriving data-driven, actionable insights that contribute to various Merchandising initiatives and other cross-functional collaboration including Assortment Strategy, Strategic Sourcing, Supply Chain, Revenue Management, and Marketing.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists with maintenance and refinement of the pricing architecture process, including pricing analytics, competitive pricing data benchmarking, and pricing insights to determine and to influence strategy and decisions.
Present and communicate pricing architecture recommendations to Merchandising and Revenue Management Sr. Directors/Directors/Managers to facilitate alignment.
Collaborate with Business Centers to build, socialize, monitor and manage Category Pricing Strategies to enable sustainable profitable growth and performance to plan.
Support cross-functional teams to provide analytics and recommendations to inform discussion and decision-making around Pricing / Assortment / Merchandising analyses and processes.
Engage with key internal stakeholders to ensure understanding of data-derived insights and adoption of recommended changes and enhancements.
Perform routine analyses integrating robust data sets and variables as an input to merchandising strategies for product, price, placement, and promotions to reflect category strategic vision and performance metrics.
Education Required:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study or equivalent combination of education/experience in lieu of a degree sufficient to successfully perform essential job functions.
Experience Required:
1-4 years related experience.
Skills to develop insights and recommendations with analyses from various data sources.
Experience Preferred:
A proven track record in Strategic Pricing, Assortment Management or Merchandising.
CPG, Retail or Foodservice industry experience strongly preferred.
Technical Skills and Abilities:
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (e.g. pivot tables, data connections, and VBA macros).
Proficiency with key analytical/visualization tools such as Tableau and other relational databases.
Experience in SQL, R or other relevant data mining software.
Strong quantitative problem-solving skills developing structured analytics to answer complex issues or business questions and interpret large data sets comfortably with guidance.
Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage many ongoing projects at once.
Critical thinker with strong general business acumen and can work independently and proactively with limited supervision.
Confident communicator with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Openness to changes and new ideas.
