The manager will research emerging solutions and collaborate with internal stakeholders to determine business rationale for adoption, potential value, and tradeoffs associated with implementation. In addition, they will play a driving role in shaping and deploying key category growth strategies with partnership from various stakeholders; requiring leadership, discretionary judgement, coordination and influence across departments.

Description Job Summary: The Manager of Business Growth—Sysco Brands will be a key contributor to the design and execution of long-term strategies to drive profitable growth of Sysco’s Own Brand product portfolio. Working with the Own Brand Center of Excellence and across business units, the Manager of Business Growth—Sysco Brands will manage critical strategic business initiatives, conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis to evaluate growth channels, both within existing customers and in new markets. The manager will research emerging solutions and collaborate with internal stakeholders to determine business rationale for adoption, potential value, and tradeoffs associated with implementation. In addition, they will play a driving role in shaping and deploying key category growth strategies with partnership from various stakeholders; requiring leadership, discretionary judgement, coordination and influence across departments. Duties and Responsibilities: Accountable within their scope of Business Centers programs to conduct deep dive data and performance analytics and provide creativity, and structured thinking / decision making to develop business plans/cases to support Own Brand portfolio growth and conversions. Own the program management and execution for all workstreams needed to execute against aligned upon growth strategy(ies) including defining workstreams, identifying timelines, sequencing work, capturing dependencies, managing issue resolution and trading off priorities as needed to execute the business strategy. The scope of work, influence and outcomes is similar to the Sr. Manager, with the exception that this role will be accountable for fewer Business Centers programs; requiring ability to independently exercise discretion and influence (up, down, laterally) across the organization. . Support other Business Centers core programs (as needed) within their scope in cultivating key messages and communications for varying audiences, including progress updates for executive audiences. Accountable within their scope of Business Centers programs for identifying, researching and defining future growth strategies across existing customers and/or in new markets; leveraging current capabilities or through the creation of new ones Education Required: Bachelor’s degree; master’s preferred Experience Required: 5+ years of experience in an analytical and strategic business role, with escalating levels of leadership and responsibility Must have skillset with modeling, strategic thinking and growth planning experience, including program management experience Experience Preferred: Minimum of 5+ experience in food service and B2B industries preferred Technical Skills and Abilities: Strong interpersonal, leadership, communication, and presentation skills Proven experience to get work done in a complex matrix organization Ability to think strategically and tactically from customer perspective with little supervision Ability to structure unique problems and lead cross-functional teams in a way that enables the organization to make significant progress quickly Strong ability to manage ambiguity and guide the organization through it towards clear and decisive action plans Ability to understand Growth Mindset and Financial Acumen (i.e. P&L) Strong project leadership and management Experience with change management a plus Analytic and problem-solving skills Proven ability to establish credibility, to work across boundaries and lead through influence Strong communication and collaboration skills Self-starter with a strong ability to lead and develop a new team Professional attitude, service orientation, strong work ethic; superb team player Excels in nebulous environments where the path to address a problem is not always clear or direct Approaches every problem with an outside-in perspective first and does not allow the status quo to influence your analysis Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint Language Requirements: English Required Physical Demands: Reasonable accommodations will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this job.
