Requirements Responsible for research, analysis, and data integrity of contract pricing, customer rebates, and quality assurance within the SBS Pricing & Agreements. Proactively seek opportunities for process improvements and present recommendations to leadership for best business practices. Work proactively with business partners including National Sales, Field Sales, Supply Chain, Merchandising, and Finance. Identify and analyze pricing and rebate discrepancies through reporting. Seek opportunities to standardize processes. Partner with technology teams as required to resolve systematic defects and improve processes and reports. Lead projects as needed to close SBS Customer Contract Management gaps ensuring accurate pricing, incentives, and supplier billbacks.

Description

SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE:

Research and analyze pricing or rebate issues within the SBS Customer Pricing & Agreements Team, proactively seek opportunities for process improvements and present recommendations to Management, compile and present root cause analysis, troubleshoot system errors, produce ad-hoc reports/metrics, apply actionable knowledge toward problem solving, and assist in completion of projects when necessary.  Analyze and identify issues through reporting, monitor IT incidents required to resolve systematic defects and lead projects to close SBS Customer Contract Management gaps and required enhancements. Will support multiple levels of Sysco’s Sales, Operating Company Finance Team and Merchandising organization.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operations

  • Provide Agreement expertise, guidance in system use, troubleshooting support, and issue escalation

  • Ensures price rule or rebate program is compliant with Sysco contracts

  • Ensures quality and timeliness of activities required to update ensure accurate pricing

  • Researches and resolves customer price audit, vendor billback transactions, and pricing download incidents and inquiries by; gathering facts related to complex functional situation, determining root causes of outcome, and develops or collaborates on their resolution and reconciliation.

  • Contributes subject matter expertise regarding customer contract pricing administration

  • Collaborates effectively with internal and external customers and global partners to resolve pricing issues.

  • Develops and teaches detailed contract pricing or rebate administration processes and procedures to specialists.

  • Read and interpret Master Distribution Agreements/Supplier negotiated agreements, contract terms and conditions, understand intent, recognize and resolve potential risk and impact to Sysco and apply knowledge to determine appropriate method of implementation.

  • Independently organize and prioritize activities related to the administration of time sensitive contracts and to the follow-up of inquiries from customers and related parties.

  • Effectively administers price rules and rebate or pricing contracts free of administrative error and is able to apply knowledge to effectively resolve customer billing and price audit questions.

  • Facilitate pricing discrepancy resolution between Suppliers, Merchandising, RVP, Operating Companies, and SBS teams based on pricing analysis.

  • Analyzes customer performance accruals/payments and financial records to ensure accurate accounting records

  • Execute on action plans designed to support functional strategies

Process Management & Driving Results

  • Oversee development and implementation of metrics reporting to track accuracy and identify areas of improvement.

  • Drive implementation of efficiencies, new processes, and technology changes to improve productivity and accuracy.

  • Leads team efforts to identify improvement opportunities and continuously improve team performance

  • Develop, improve, and implement customer programs and contract administrative processes.

  • Participates in the SBS M4 business practices (includes documenting / maintaining standard processes, performing and measuring metrics, and actively participating in continuous improvement initiatives)

  • Make decisions and give guidance pertaining to systems, processes related to customer agreements

  • Training and Development of Global team to stabilize and improve a seamless tiered service delivery model

Project Work:

  • Serve as a point of customer or supplier pricing inquiry or dispute escalation

  • Requires an extreme focus on the details in all stages of the process to ensure customer pricing accuracy.

  • Coordinates other Sysco organizations as appropriate (e.g. Sysco Sales Force, SBS Finance, SBS Support Center, Sysco Corporate, BT)

  • Facilitate and monitor technical development projects and process developments in response to the identification of process and technology gaps.

  • Assumes the responsibility of the Team Lead when needed.

  • Manage special projects and duties as assigned

Escalation Management

  • Develops and applies knowledge and expertise on customer pricing processes with Sysco systems and effectively resolves related incidents and issues.

  • Assist in Root Cause Analysis

  • Serves as a point of escalation for complex and unique inquiries and problems that cannot be resolved through the standard troubleshooting steps. 

Education Required:

Bachelor’s Degree in business or Analytical Field OR 3 years Sysco experience with proven track record of transactional excellence

Education Preferred:

Bachelor’s Degree

Experience Required:

  • 2+ years of work experience with emphasis on areas such as reporting development, financial planning and analysis, accounting background, and/or financial.  Related analytical experience sufficient to successfully perform essential functions of the job

Experience Preferred

Proven analytical skills preferred. 

ABILITIES AND SKILLS:

  • Working knowledge of Master Distribution Agreements and Supplier Contracts

  • Ability to define, diagnose, and resolve business problems based on sound logic and rationale

  • Excellent communication, including written and oral communications with all levels of the organization up to and including senior management.

  • Strong problem management and solving skills, with the ability to work under strict deadlines, department policy, procedures

  • Ability to quickly develop detailed understanding of systems and interoperability between corporate, operating company and Specialty company systems. 

  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

  • Ability to independently and proactively resolve problems within established parameters. 

  • Ability to plan and carry out assigned projects, resolve most of the conflicts, coordinate work with others and interpret policies on own initiative. Ability to  use data-driven insights to make recommendations on plans of action.

  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining good working relationship with both internal and external clients
