This sub-family captures various types of technicians, regardless of their area of specialization. Technicians who work in an engineering discipline, or a related Engineering trade, but that do not possess the formal education and experience requirements of a certified Engineer should be matched to this sub-family.

- Ability to interpret blueprints and schematics.
- Knowledge of methods, practices, and techniques of maintaining buildings and facilities.
