General Summary:

The purpose of this position is to field incoming calls from route drivers, customer service, and others to gather, record, and / or report delivery time information and delivery status on selected accounts. This position will also coordinate 2nd run dispatch for delivery. Hours are 9:30 am to 5:30 pm M-F / 12-7 pm on Saturdays. Sunday and another day off during the week. Schedule could vary depending on the needs of the department.


Educational Requirements:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent.

2. Secondary education preferred.


Experience Requirements:

1. Strong organizational skills and ability to handle stressful situations effectively.

2. Good communications skills and professional manner dealing with customers and customer service.

3. Good working knowledge of Tampa Bay geography.

4. CDL and working knowledge of DOT regulations preferred.


Specific Responsibilities:

1. Coordinating 2nd run route dispatch in timely manner ensuring successful delivery.

2. Overseeing order selecting of 2nd runs to be ready by 11:00am cutoff.

3. Gathering and recording delivery time information from route drivers.

4. Communicating with customer service on route driver locations as requested.

5. Communicating with management and customer service regarding deliveries that will not be made within delivery windows.

6. Communicating with management on truck breakdowns.

7. Completing delivery logs daily and disbursement to management.

8. Working with purchasing department on all product pick-ups, and assigning drivers to complete pick-ups and return product and paperwork to receiving.

9. Communicating with management on any driver/delivery issues that arise during the course of the day.

10. Performing other duties as directed by management.

1. Basic knowledge of computer programs and functions including Windows, Microsoft Office and AS400 applications preferred.

1. Stand for extended periods of time.

5. Must have the ability to talk and hear; hear warning horns on moving machinery and equipment.

6. Specific vision abilities required to perform this job include close and distance vision, depth perception, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

7. Must exhibit a high level of endurance, energy, and strength to successfully perform position.

8. Must be able to climb or balance.

9. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.

10.Must be able to operate standard office equipment: computer, printer, copier and fax.


Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, an associate regularly works near moving mechanical apparatus and is regularly exposed to vibration and moderate to high noise levels. The work environment includes congested and high traffic areas, slippery floors, working alongside forklifts, single pallet jacks, electric walk behind jacks and hand carts. Walking and working is done on concrete flooring. Some duties are performed in the warehouse and will require work to be done in varying climates. Temperatures range from zero in the coolers to 95 degrees Fahrenheit or above outdoors.
