POSITION SUMMARY: This position serves as a member of the core operations leadership.  The warehouse supervisor is a key position, providing direction and leadership to our warehouse associates. The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for all aspects of warehouse operations during their shift.  These operations include but are not limited to: Receiving product, stocking product, quality control, order fulfillment, generating paperwork, customer service, promotion and discipline for associates, loading of trailers and equipment, safety training, process engineering, and operational efficiency development. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
•    Lead a team of warehouse associates to meet business needs.
•    Oversee associates receiving product from trailers and vendors.
•    Supervisor associates filling daily orders, ensuring quality and accuracy of the order.
•    Coaching and mentoring associates for improvement.
•    Scheduling associates to meet the workload needs of the business
•    Works closely with office, production, transportation, and management staff to anticipate workload, and adjust operations to meet those needs.
•    Investigates any issues with operations as they arise.
•    Reinforce and promote the highest customer service and safety culture.
•    Ensure all information is passed from the on shift supervisor, and the incoming supervisor.
•    Approves payroll and leave for their team of associates.
•    Assist the operation manager in mitigating cost, and improving service levels across all operational levels.
•    Track and strive to improve productivity, working with the operations manager to find innovative efficiencies. 
•    Ensure all paperwork is accounted for and is completed in a timely and accurate manner.

 

REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
•    High School Diploma or equivalent
•    Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Global Supply Chain Logistics, or equivalent
•    Work experience may substitute for bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.
•    2 years working in a leadership role, leading a team of people to meet an objective.

 

CERTIFICATIONS AND/OR TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
•    Moderate to advanced proficiency with computer software, including inventory control, invoicing, and Microsoft Office suite
•    Must obtain Sysco authorized forklift operator certification within 3 months of employment
•    Must attend all mandatory Fundamentals of Leadership for Operations training workshops provided by the company.
•    Must complete Fundamentals of Leadership for Operations online SIU course within 6 months of employment.
•    Must complete Assessing Your Own Leadership Performance online SIU within 6 Months of Employment.
•    Must complete Building a Leadership Development Plan online SIU within 3 months of Employment. 


ABILITIES AND SKILLS:
•    High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
•    Multitask, prioritize, set and meet deadlines of the business
•    Ability to lead and develop a team of people, using a vision and strategy.
•    Communicate effectively with others.
•    Ability to work in a fast paced operation consisting of complex processes.
•    Working knowledge of food safety fundamentals.
•    Working knowledge of industrial safety fundamentals.
•    Ability to analyze a problem, and provide solutions as well as process improvement.

The associate is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms or balance. The associate is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of the job:
•    While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to wet, extreme cold and/or humid conditions; and moving mechanical parts. The associate works non-traditional business hours including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays. The associate may occasionally be required to travel to other Operating Companies or the corporate office as business needs dictate (i.e. training, business continuation, etc.). The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
