Job Summary:

Perform food safety and quality analysis at a set frequency, by conducting tests and inspection of product and practices to insure a safe quality product.

Educational Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • College Degree preferred
  • 2 years in the food safety field preferred

 

Experience Required:

  • PC Literate – (Microsoft Office Suite) – Word, Excel PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Language Skills – Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally, in English.  Spanish speaking skills are a strong plus.
    • Active Listening – Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points that are being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
    • Reading and Comprehension – Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents

  • Schedule: Sunday-Friday (Saturday off-one day off during week)Schedule: Sunday-Friday (Saturday off-one day off during week)
  • Working in 34 degree Production Room performing quality checks

  • Schedule varies from 6am-3pm to Noon to close (candidate should be able to work either shift as it will rotate)

 

Specific Job Responsibilities:

  • Daily QA paperwork – This includes preoperational inspections, procedural checks though out the day, equipment inspection, Environmental micro testing, equipment/tool calibration checks
  • Understanding and enforcement of FreshPoint SOP/SSOP/GMP requirements
  • Raw product micro testing procedures and sample requirements
  • Monitor tables to help ensure the product meets current specs, dicers, pack out and boxing to ensure product meets current specs, boxing area to ensure label and specs match, quality both before and after processing
  • Inform Supervisor or Manager of any concerns about food safety/quality
  • Intro to HACCP and its purpose
  • File and keep all documentation regarding food safety/quality
  • Keep track of food safety/quality trends

Work towards the development of better work practices to insure a higher level of food safety/quality
