GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:  The Line Lead is responsible for making adjustments in order to meet all the requirements of the production department. This position will ensure that all loaders are tending to their responsibilities while staying productive, and ensuring that packers are following production instructions as given by management.  

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Employee must pass a background check, pre-employment post offer drug screen and lifting test
  • Must be able to communicate well with others
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Pass the minimum hiring requirements
  • Maintain certification to operate all PIT (Powered Industrial Trucks) trained to operate
  • Education or experience to fulfill the essential functions and responsibilities
  • Basic understanding of the HACCP and Food Safety Programs
  • Computer literate: Able to operate computer and software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, SG system…etc.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Ensure that all production lines have product.
  • Transport completed pallets from production floor to designated slots on the dock.
  • Ensure that all pallets leaving the department are properly labeled.
  • Ensure all orders are complete before dismissing the team.
  • Direct packers and loaders throughout the department to assigned tasks.
  • Direct SG operators on what items/orders are going to be ran on the production lines.
  • Ensure that stock is not left behind for other lines.
  • Report any shortages and/or department issues to the Production Manager or Supervisors.
  • Ensure that all boxes are scanned and labeled.
  • Check coolers for proper pallet tagging and product rotation problems.
  • Keep any staff issues confidential.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the line throughout the day and at the end of the shift.
  • Monitor the break schedule.
  •  Check all coolers and pack outs before the end of shift.
  • Train associates on sizing, quality, and color of tomatoes.

 

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Temperatures vary from 40 – 70 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Schedules are set to the needs of the company.
    • Shifts start between 5:00 am and 7:00 am and end when all work is completed
    • Shifts are generally between 6 and 10 hours long, overtime as needed
    • Work days are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday
