This Shared Business Services Process Improvement Sr. Manager is responsible for planning, managing, and driving improvement programs as defined and prioritized by Sysco leadership. The Sr. Manager partners with functional leaders to understand priorities and plan the project work necessary to meet goals. Projects range in complexity from continuous improvement to large, strategic initiatives.



  • Be the expert leader in planning, organizing, and executing large scale business improvement projects: 
    • Partner with Directors to turn priorities and goals into strategies and multi-year roadmaps with actionable initiatives.
    • Scope and develop high-level project plans.
    • Identify resources, assign work, and launch projects.
    • Lead all phases thru initial opportunity analysis through implementation and realization of benefits.
    • Manage the production and distribution of weekly performance reporting.
    • Collect and present issues and risks to sr. leadership for awareness, decisions, and action.
    • Direct the performance of project team members regardless of reporting structure.
  • Manage the strategic initiative portfolio
    • Develop and improve the portfolio management process.
    • Manage a 5 year strategic roadmap for initiatives aligned to achieve corporate goals.
    • Assist with setting project priorities.
    • Align projects with strategic priorities.
    • Track and report project progress, issues, risks, benefits, costs,etc.
  • Install and continue to grow Sysco's continuous improvement capability
  • Participate in the annual and long term planning process.
  • Participate in recruiting of department resources



Basic Qualifications:

  • 7 years experience of leading project teams in process re-engineering and improvement in an external or internal consulting role with heavy customer interaction.
  • Experience with managing strategic portfolio for large departments
  • Expert level understanding of business improvement methodologies (DMAIC, Lean Six Sigma, etc)


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree
  • 7 years of business consulting experience with client facing project experience in business process management and improvement
  • Track record of strategic business planning/design for large scale business transformation initiatives
  • Understanding of Sysco's business and organization model and knowledge of category management process
  • Experience with implementing improvements for a shared services organization
  • Experience in the areas of business process review, business process improvement and re-engineering concepts and practices.


Education and / or Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:

  • PMP (project management professional) preferred
  • Certified in Lean Six Sigma and/or Six Sigma Green Belt or higher is preferred
