Position Summary:

 

This Finance position is responsible for maintaining, developing and implementing procedures that ensure the highest levels of inventory accuracy while minimizing the amount of shrink.

 

Primary areas of responsibility

  • Responsible for all aspects of inventory control (track product coming in and out of the plant, keep track of age on product and rotation of product)
  • Performs on going physical cycle count of inventory in an effort to ensure accuracy of the perpetual inventory
  • Lead the monthly full warehouse perpetual inventory count
  • Review/Prepare daily inventory reports looking for possible errors and working with Finance, Operations, and Merchandising departments to get corrected both physically and electronically
  • Check-in drivers who have completed their routes by verifying product returns, customer invoice signature and identifying possible missed deliveries
  • Verify reserves are properly recorded and verify the count of each reserve pallet
  • Investigates receiving and shipping problems, identifies cause and more efficient procedures recommending corrective action to warehouse management
  • Take the lead on obsolete inventory through reporting and managing
  • Complete internal self-audit testing of inventory
  • Conduct product aging audits
  • Assist portion room monitoring accurate meat in and out of room
  • Assist QA with Product Recall process
  • 75% of time spent in Production & Warehouse

 

Experience/Education

 

  • 2 to 5 years in food production/operations and inventory management required
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred
  • Certification to frequently operate forklift, high-rise and pallet jack

 

Skills

 

  • A demonstrated ability to plan and organize your own work activities; analyze and disseminate numerical data; manage work time efficiently; follow procedures/polices; identify and solve problems
  • Strong PC skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Database concepts
  • Ability to speak and write English effectively
  • Must have exemplary listening skills to facilitate effective two-way communication
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 1 Saturday per month
  • Must be able to work in temperature controlled warehouse approx. 35F degrees and spend a minimum of 1 hour in freezer approx. -6F degrees
  • Physical activity include ability to lift 75lbs of material, climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, reaching, sitting, standing, walking and finger dexterity for data entry
