POSITION SUMMARY:

The Global Mobility Specialist provides assignment advisory and support to associates, managers and HR business partners for global mobility programs, policies and processes. The Specialist works with internal parties and external vendors to provide subject matter expertise on assignment-related compliance issues (i.e., new location, country requirements, tax, legal or employment issues, etc.). Additionally, the Specialist manages the outsourced assignment services firm and resolves escalated issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage a mobility portfolio of 500+ associates (i.e. pool of transferees (US Domestic and International), commuters, expatriates and frequent business travelers)
  • Serve as the internal representative to support associates during transition and through domestic or international assignments
  • Evaluate and manage multiple vendors and ensure ongoing, quality support for associates
  • Ensure compliance with global mobility policies and processes
  • Prompt resolution of issues and proactive responses to associates and business partners
  • Provide support and advice in identifying policy changes or process improvement recommendations to address compliance issues
  • Monitor exceptions and make recommendations, when appropriate, to grant exceptions
  • Provide global mobility subject matter expertise to HR business partners and managers

 

Education and / or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Finance or related business discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of Global Mobility experience; managing the deployment of employees domestically and internationally
  • Understanding of expatriate taxation
  • Possess a natural curiosity about living or travelling abroad
  • Strong technical skills including MS Office and/or other related systems; Workday experience is a plus
  • Global Mobility Specialist certification is a plus

 

Professional Skills:

  • Experience with domestic and international assignment management for a global organization
  • Experience with working across multiple functions including A/P, Payroll, Corporate Tax, HR, Legal, Travel, etc.
  • Experience in assisting all levels of associates with immigration and taxation issues
  • Strong knowledge of global payroll reporting, mobility accruals, cost allocation and budgeting
  • Understanding of income tax rules, social security and tax treaties
