SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE:

Sysco’s Business Technology department brings together technology and process expertise into one streamlined, consumer and business-oriented team. Our focus is to provide innovative business solutions that eliminate waste, maximize customer satisfaction and improve business productivity.

 

The successful candidate for this position will perform the Sr. Product Owner (Sr. Manager) role within the Sales & Marketing’s business technology organization.  In this role, the Sr. Product Owner role delivers value to Business and BT stakeholders through the planning, execution, & delivery of one or more high quality software products and/or enhancements through leading and mentoring multiple agile teams or a high complexity agile product team.  This role will be required to have experience in the Salesforce ecosystem, specifically the Marketing Cloud, and other Marketing Technologies.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Owns the development and delivery of one or multiple high complexity software product(s) in line with business needs by leading and working across agile teams and across a full-stack of development tools and technologies
  • Owns and drives key business relationships for the product(s)
  • Owns the creation and execution of Marketing Campaigns and Journeys
  • Researches and analyzes industry trends and benchmarking information as they apply to product(s)
  • Creates & maintains an executable backlog of product requirements
  • Understands, defines, and communicates prioritization of product requirements with a mind toward business value and tradeoffs
  • Assists with the elaboration of product backlog requirements into user stories that are granular enough to be delivered by the Product team in a single sprint
  • Participates actively in daily stand-ups, sprint planning meetings, sprint reviews and retrospectives to drive team alignment on product vision and value delivery
  • Takes stock of business risks, issues, and impediments being experienced by the product team and actively assists with issue resolution
  • Inspects product progress throughout the sprint and is empowered to make critical decisions and accept work completed by the team
  • Leads, mentors and manages performance of the agile team members representing the product(s) owned
  • Supervises product team members as they engage with stakeholders, build a backlog, and deliver work
  • Encourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization, and diversity

 

ABILITIES AND SKILLS:

  • Strong product management skills with deep understanding of product vision and overall product lifecycle 
  • Demonstrated leadership and people management skills and ability to make decisions and set clear priorities
  • Proven ability to recognize value and manage investments to maximize value delivered
  • Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills
  • Experience in Marketing Technologies including Salesforce Marketing Cloud

 

REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION:

  • 4 year bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Business relevant field

 

REQUIRED MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

  • 8+ years experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager or Business Analyst with a minimum 5 years of experience in an agile environment
  • Strong understanding of Scrum, Lean, XP, Kanban and other agile development frameworks
  • Proven experience managing design and delivery of highly technical and complex large-scale products
  • Sound knowledge of emerging technologies focusing on cloud products, SaaS platforms, or Enterprise Applications – particularly Marketing Technologies
  • 1+ years of experience using the Marketing Cloud / Exact Target platform
  • 1+ years of experience with Salesforce ecosystem and Marketing Cloud Connector
  • Experience with Journey Builder
  • Other experiences preferred include Email Marketing, eMarketing, Lead Generations, Social Media, Online Marketing, Marketing Automation, Email Campaigns, SMS Marketing, Mobile Marketing and Interactive Marketing Hub

  • This position will be performed from the Corporate facility in Houston Texas.  
  • Must be able to travel on occasion to Sysco facilities or operating companies.
