POSITION SUMMARY:

Team member, leader within the Product Marketing department who works cross-functionally across Merchandising, Sales, Finance, Training Suppliers, Brokers and Marketing to create and communicate product value propositions in the form of training, learning materials, sales education, and promotions. Specializes in Branding and product lifecycle management. Leads the activation side of Sysco’s $13B brand portfolio. Establishes and executes brand activation annual plans, delivering growth in equity and brand sales. Leads creative agencies and influences the supplier and SMS relationships in order to direct accurate and engaging brand communications. Manages enterprise risks related to brand marketing.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops, gains alignment on, and executes annual brand plans. Leads the product marketing team to deliver brand development programs and platforms for the enterprise. Works with commercial team, various departments, creative agencies, operating companies, and specialty companies to activate Sysco brands with sales teams and customers. Establishes sound metrics and measures success of brand plans. Adjusts plan direction as needed to optimize brand programming and sales performance.
  • Work with Category Managers and provide market requirements and appropriate marketing strategy for current and future products by using market research supported by Customer and Market insights, competitor analysis, and on-going visits to customers and non-customers. Leads cross functional teams across our operating company’s Sales, Marketing and Merchandising groups to help develop and optimize our proprietary brand portfolio and its’ activation. Manages branding and execution for other Sysco entities and platforms, as needed.
  • Maintains constant and concise communication with merchandising, field sales and key suppliers personnel in executing and evaluating the effectiveness of all product related branding, packaging, and programs at the corporate and field levels.
  • Identify and maintain high-level internal leadership, executional managers, and supplier relationships to create and implement joint strategies that will drive profitable growth of Sysco Brand.
  • Manage all documentation about Sysco Brand products and programs and related applications (brochures, promotional leaflets, recipes, specification sheets, presentations, etc.) in collaboration with the Marketing team, Merchandising team and suppliers. Supports the overall marketing team(s) in brand development and execution.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and / or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • 10+ years of B2C or B2B Sales, Merchandising and/or Marketing
  • 5+ years related Food & Beverage, Food Services or Consumer Goods industry experience required including branding and packaging

  • Work cross functionally in analyzing, designing and improving marketing solutions
  • Develop and provide presentations to various levels of management
  • Working with matrix teams to drive effective results
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel experience with macros, filters, etc. highly desirable

  • Ability to document and track project progress
