We are seeking an ambitious candidate to work semi-autonomously on analyzing sales and finance, revenue management data for various business use cases around expense reduction, capacity planning and quality improvement.  This position will focus on developing insights for possible process, people and technology improvements.  The successful candidate will be expected to research new solutions, support existing solutions, solve business problems and propose internal solutions to optimize data infrastructure.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with product owners and business subject matter experts to obtain an understanding of their functional requirements and needs by planning/conducting business requirement sessions using interviews, workshops, and/or existing systems documentation or procedures.
  • Build analytical tools to facilitate decisions and the development of business cases
  • Identify business risks and make recommendations for countermeasures based on analysis and help facilitate the conversion to a solution
  • Identify trends based on collected data to drive performance improvements.
  • Work on an Agile team
  • Collaborate with cross-team Functional Analysts to build knowledge within the team.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership team.
  • Follow and champion all Sysco policies and procedures.
  • Ability to use critical thinking skills to define business problems and articulate solutions in written form 
  • Data exploration skills using advanced Excel or BI visualization tools
  • Ability to write SQL code working in a columnar database without a dependency on an intermediary, guided interface (e.g., a drag and drop tool) and facility with data 
    manipulation in SQL 
  • Design and develop analytical solutions/reports to support sales, finance, and revenue management departments using business intelligence tools such as Tableau
  • Analyze large data sets to discover trends, patterns, and actionable insights. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills relating to technical and non-technical audiences 
  • Ability to communicate in meetings and work directly with stakeholders as needed to solve problems and keep work progress moving forward
  • Self-driven to help team members succeed and deliver relevant timely products

 

REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Economics, Math/Science Finance, engineering, or similar discipline with at least 2 years of experience.  Master's preferred.
  • 3 years’ experience working with complex data performing exploration and business problem solving
  • 3 years’ experience using SQL
  • Familiarity with Tableau development or other statistical packages.

ABILITIES AND SKILLS:

  • A solid understanding and appreciation for the agile methodology and scaled agile principles.
  • Data Interpretation & visualization skills, combined with critical thinking and attention to detail
  • Ability to write SQL code without a dependency on an intermediary, guided interface (e.g., a drag and drop tool) and facility with data manipulation in SQL  
  • Remedy knowledge a plus.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills relating to technical and non-technical audiences.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and telephone to talk and hear.
