SUMMARY of the position: 

The Senior Supply Chain Analyst is responsible for designing, developing and deploying computer-based decision support tools, models and databases in support of National Supply Chain Inventory Management.  The analyst will extract, validate and organize data sets for each assigned initiative, then perform the analysis and recommend solutions.  The Senior Supply Chain Analyst will be required at times to lead a group and complete analysis for assigned initiatives or projects



•Develop computer based tools and automated workflows to increase efficiencies for recurring processes

•Design, develop, and deploy computer-based decision support tools and models

•Conduct and document analysis projects related to forecasting, inventory management, master capacity planning, and order fulfillment inclusive of ad-hoc reporting

•Perform fact based, data driven analysis and modeling

•Analyze, troubleshoot, make recommendations, and implement solutions for existing processes and procedures

•Develop strategic and tactical tools to consolidate/automate current activities

•Train internal customers and peers on the use of tools and processes

•Identify data quality and calculation issues

•Work with developers and business users

•Requires an undergraduate or higher degree in Supply Chain/MIS/IE/Mathematics or related field

•A higher degree in a related field of study or 3+ years experience in a supply chain position, preferably in a high volume, multi-location distribution environment, concentrating on supply chain modeling, operations, finance, or inventory management

•Experienced in analyzing significant amounts of data and turning it into actionable information

•Extensive knowledge of PC applications required specifically SQL Server 2005, MS Excel and MS Access

•Excellent interpersonal skills to apply in communications with business partners, the field, and corporate personnel

•Ability to perform advanced analytical functions

•Ability to plan, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

•Attention to detail with proven follow-up skills

•Performs independently as well in team environment.


LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must have good written and verbal communication skills. Verbalizes and writes clearly and concisely.  Ability to write reports and business correspondence.  Ability to effectively communicate with various levels of Sysco management and external partners.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Must have excellent math skills with strong analytical capability.
