The Senior Learning Experience Designer will lead the design, development, and launch of new, innovative, enterprise-wide learning initiatives.  Collateral will be housed and maintained on the learning portal.  This position will collaborate closely with product teams and the business to develop learning interventions and initiatives that align with corporate goals and support on the job performance as well as end user adoption. A wide degree of creativity and self-motivation is expected.  High energy and passion for providing tools for success are a must.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Learning Portal Strategy and Support (30-60%):

 

  • Consults on the best usage of learning technology and strategies, based on specific business needs and evolving practices
  • Collaborates with technical and product teams to define and translate business and technical requirements and communicate impacts of system enhancements needed to implement learning technology initiatives
  • Optimize interactive designs (interactive features, videos, and other functionality) for the web.
  • Translate designs into standards-based XML/HTML5/CSS.
  • Build new pages for our internal and external web sites and landing pages.
  • Analyze, diagnose and propose solutions to user problems
  • Monitors learning effectiveness; makes improvement recommendations and follows-up as appropriate
  • Generates reports on learning portal related usage metrics

 

Learning Portal Content Development and Standards (40-70%):

 

  • Assist in the development of  end to end strategy for new learning initiatives to drive business results
  • Develop strong knowledge of the business and build relationships with key subject matter experts to ensure learning design addresses critical business needs and drives growth. 
  • Assists in the development, communication and governance of standards and methodologies for developing in Flare as well as other learning support tools.
  • Analyze security access, ‘as is’ and ‘to be’ process diagrams, conduct role to job mappings to develop role based learning solutions.
  • Ensure successful design and delivery of collateral by conducting needs analysis, designing innovative learning solutions, evaluating effectiveness, and incorporating feedback. 
  • Work cross functionally to create engaging learning activities, compelling course content and programs that increase job knowledge, develop skills, and influence behavior and communication; including but not limited to: instructor led, web based, e-learning, blended courses, process flows, activities, exercises, simulations, job aids, leader's guides, video and audio and  quizzes, and train-the-trainer sessions.
  • Collaborates with product teams on learning deliverables for small to medium scope and ensures compliance with standards and templates
  • Act as a change advocate for learning strategies and tools
  • Keep current in learning trends and work to incorporate best practices.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned or as directed
     

Minimum requirements

 

Incumbent must be able to ramp up quickly to understand Sysco’s requirements, system configuration, and new business processes.

Education: BA or BS in instructional technology, technical communications, business, interactive/visual design or related field required

  • 5-8 years of relevant content design experience for technology solutions
  • Experience working with MadCap Flare or similar single source authoring tool
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Technical Communications and Creative Suites
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint and Word
  • Experience with the RWD uPerform preferred
  • Experience with SharePoint 365 platforms
  • Understanding of responsive design methods
  • Technical acumen with web technologies – HTML5, CSS, and browser capabilities across platforms required Knowledge of implementing xAPI preferred
  • Knowledge of integrating/ designing for a content management system and/or Learning Record System
