This is a Transportation position responsible for driving box trucks and tractor trailers for the purpose of delivering and unloading various products to FreshPoint customers.  This requires using excellent customer service skills, and working in accordance with state and DOT regulations, and Safety Preferred Work Methods.


This position requires working {3:00am until end-of-shift} until all product is accurately delivered.  Overtime hours and working weekends and holidays are required in order to successfully deliver customers’ orders.  


Must be able to work Monday thru Saturday with early morning start times.







  • Operate vehicle in a variety of traffic and weather conditions.
  • Meet or exceed minimum productivity levels established by the Company.
  • Effectively plan and organize work activities independent of direct supervision.
  • Develop a good working knowledge of product and inventory control techniques and procedures.
  • Maintain ongoing inter-department communications related to routing, safety, and customer relations.
  • Meet or exceed established cases per error goals.
  • Demonstrate strong customer relations and problem resolution skills.




  • Deliver product within assigned route schedule and time windows.
  • Unload product from trailer, by hand or using hand cart, and place in designated customer storage areas. 
  • Verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures.  Contact management for authorization when discrepancies on invoice and communicate all errors/returns.
  • Collect payment from customers where required and submit all funds collected daily.
  • Pickup, load and unload damaged goods and customer returns, and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Complete Department of Transportation {DOT} logs {electronic or manual as required}, company vehicle maintenance reports and reconcile with appropriate company representative as required.
  • Responsible for cleaning designated area at the end of the shift as dictated by management.
  • Strictly adhere to company Proper Work Techniques and Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Adheres to all safety rules, guidelines, policies, and procedures at all times without exception.
  • Observes sanitation requirements in order to comply with Company policy and food safety inspection agencies.
  • Attend all required company meetings.
  • Perform any additional tasks as directed by management personnel.




  • Conforms to appropriate equipment operation rules and practices in an effort to reduce accidents and injuries.
  • Ensure all vehicle equipment maintenance reports are properly verified and completed for all pre-trip / post-trip inspections in accordance with DOT regulations and FreshPoint policies / procedures.
  • Maintain, secure and safely operate all assigned equipment, including but not limited to hand cart, pallets, load bars, and personal protective equipment.
  • Ensures that assigned equipment is maintained and clean and reports repair or service needs to designated Transportation management personnel in an effort to reduce equipment damage.
  • Ensures the availability of fully operational equipment at all times.




  • High School Diploma or equivalent required with an Associate’s or Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
  • One or more years’ commercial driving experience.
  • Valid North Carolina Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License {CDL}.
  • Meet Sysco USA Standards for CDL Driver Candidate MVR.
  • Qualify for Sysco casualty pooling program.




  • Maintain an active DOT Medical Certification from a FMCSA National Registered Physician.
  • Obtain Professional Truck Driver II Certification from Sysco within first week.
  • Obtain License to Lift Certification from Sysco within first 30 days.
