Refrigeration / Facility Technician
Refrigeration and facility maintenance
Briefly describe the major function of this position and the reason it exists. Summarize into two or three sentences.
Assisting in and overseeing the safe operation, daily monitoring and maintenance of the facility, dock equipment, minor repairs of electrical devices, plumbing, material handling equipment, and security. This position is also responsible for maintenance and monitoring of the ammonia systems and office HVAC systems.
In order of importance (most to least), briefly describe 4-6 primary responsibilities of the position, and approximate the percentage of time spent on each.
% of Time
Provide technical, customer relations, and personnel management for major programs and projects.
Performs general building maintenance and material handling equipment repair, including but not limited to: Carpentry, painting, changing lights, maintenance of all tools, etc. and communicates updates to management
Maintains the freezer and cooler ammonia system through scheduled maintenance and necessary repairs
Oversees and manages refrigeration, electrical and HVAC systems
Conducts audits to ensure all required inspections and documentation is complete, timely and accurate
Completes all special projects as assigned

Minimum Required: High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred: HVAC/R schooling, RETA Certified Industrial Refrigeration Operator (CIRO) certification, HAZWOPER 24 hours, Universal EPA Certification, Arc Flash Training
Years and type of experience
Minimum Required: Four years’ experience with service/maint. of HVAC / R and facility maintenance and a Valid Driver’s License and proof of insurance meeting company standards
Type and proficiency
Minimum Required: Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures and government regulations, work successfully in a team environment, perform basic mathematical calculations, ability to work in all temperature zones, walk entire facility multiple times daily, bend and lift up to 100lbs. occasionally
